The State Sport Centres Trust is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and diligent team players on a 12 month traineeship program. The traineeships are offered in the role of lifeguard, customer service and stadiums operations at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC); the Melbourne School of Sport and Recreation Management (MSSRM) and the State Netball and Hockey Centre (SNHC).
The position requires excellent service delivery skills, a strong work ethic and a commitment to learn.
Applicants selected as potentially suitable for a traineeship will initially be employed on a casual basis for three months, to enable both us, as the employer, and you, as the employee, to assess your suitability and enthusiasm for working in the sport & recreation industry. After this probationary period, traineeships will be offered to applicants still interested and deemed suitable after an interview process.
Trainees will complete a Certificate III or IV in Community Recreation; delivered by the Melbourne School Sport & Recreation Management (MSSRM).
To be eligible for a traineeship you must commit to a minimum of 15 hours of work per week for 12 months and must not have completed any qualifications higher than Certificate 2 level (i.e. Certificate III, IV, Diploma, Degree). Trainees will also commit to training sessions facilitated by MSAC and MSSRM and the completion of all assessment components required.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical experience and a formal qualification.
